Dwarfism Details
Diagnosed at 37 weeks gestation with Skeletal Dysplasia
Confirmed through x-ray skeletal survey at birth
– trident hand present
– no bowing of the legs showing
– slight narrowing of the lumbar spine
MRI done at 5 months, no narrowing of the foramen magnum
August 2013 – File sent to Cedars Sinai International Skeletal Dysplasia Registry (ISDR) in hopes of determining a specific type.
December 2013 – ISDR requested additional x-rays of pelvis and hips, results from those are still showing consistant for suspected achondroplasia but no confirmed diagnosis as of yet.
June 2014 – Got a call from Dr. Bober at A.I. DuPont in Delaware that they received Ronan’s x-rays and he was immediately able to confirm that Ronan does in fact have Achondroplasia. Finally!!! A firm diagnosis!
